Prince Albert & Swarberg 13 April 2018

Pieter Badenhorst guided this relaxed 5-day tour, which features the Great Swartberg and remote farming communities in the foothills. The group stayed in Prince Albert for the first two nights, where they were welcomed by host Lisa with super meals, and always a friendly chat and a smile. A visit by the Town Storyteller had everyone fascinated by the history and culture of this small Karoo Town.
Adventurous activities included strolling high in the mountains on the Swarberg Pass, visiting Meiringspoort and the scenic Matjiesrivier Valley.
Later they stayed in rural and green Schoemanshoek, with its lovely rural atmosphere and friendly people.
Pieter reports that a great time was had by all!

I never tire of the beautiful Western Cape mountains when you emerge from the Huguenot tunnel, but the Swartberg are literally on another level – breathtaking grandeur and incredible folding of the rock strata. Pieter was an excellent tour leader – patient, kind and helpful – and he packed so much into our trip. I’d recommend it to anyone who enjoys nature, people, life and activities – each day was full and we returned home happy and stimulated. Thank you, Landscape!
