Victoria Falls, Livingstone and Chobe ( 8 Days)

On this thrilling 8-day tour we see some of the great highlights of Africa while also having plenty of time to relax and enjoy just 'being there'. We fly with our Landscape tour leader to JNB airport, where the group congregates, then on to Livingstone in Zambia, where we stay at the fine Chrismar Hotel. During our 4-night stay there we'll enjoy sights of the famous Falls, both from the Zambian side, and with a visit to the Zimbabwe side for those who wish. We'll visit Livingstone town with its lively markets, memorabilia of David Livingstone, and faded remnants of the colonial era. And travel out into the Zambian countryside to the small town of Mukuni, to enjoy some local colour. There'll be special evenings dining out - one right next to the Zambezi river, and another in a local hot-spot! And peaceful moments cruising on the river, and just relaxing in the lovely hotel grounds.
We leave Livingstone to drive some 70 kms west along the Zambezi to the Kazungula ferry, near the famous spot where 4 countries meet. Here we cross the river not on the ferry itself but in small motor boats! and enter Botswana. We arrive at our beautiful lodge, set on the banks of the Chobe River. During our 3-night stay we take game drives by 4x4 vehicle into the world-famous Chobe Game Reserve, and 'game cruises' on the Chobe, viewing from the boat the herds of elephant and other wildlife that abound here. In fact just spending time at the lodge is a delight in itself strolling or sitting and watching the river and all the animals and birds that make their home here.
