- About Us
This 6-day tour explores the secrets of Route 62 including Montagu and Rooiberg in the Little Karoo, a region conveniently near Cape Town, yet full of pleasant surprises and treasures. For your enjoyment and relaxation we bring you the best that the region has to offer, from spectacular mountain passes and back country villages to interesting farm visits and country cuisine. We stay first in the pretty village of Montagu, in a beautifully restored country hotel with an Art Deco theme. The food is good, the ambience is warm and friendly, and the rooms are cosy and stylish. From here we explore the best local attractions, including a spectacular tractor-trailer trip high into the Langeberg.
Our next destination is a remote private nature reserve, deep in the Rooiberg Mountains, with a delightful lodge set amongst the hills, far away from civilization. Our hosts are friendly and welcoming, the food is excellent and accommodation is comfortable. We do outings into the surrounding countryside, including visits to nearby Van Wyksdorp, Calitzdorp and Ladismith. The superb scenery along the Rooiberg and Swartberg Mountains make this ideal touring country, supplemented by delicious meals at quirky little farm and village restaurants. There is plenty of time to relax at the lodge, taking strolls to breathe the clear country air, or simply lounge about and enjoy convivial company.
As usual Landscape will collect you from your doorstep and do everything possible to ensure that you have a wonderful holiday in the countryside.

How active? LEISURE – This tour contains much interest and enjoyment but is at a very relaxed pace with only gentle and undemanding group activities. Generally speaking you have more free time to ‘do your own thing’ – to stroll or have a cup of tea, admire the view, and watch the world go by.
