- About Us
This safari is an unforgettable African experience and is designed to show you Africa of legend, from the vibrant street life of bustling Arusha, to the wild vistas from the edge of the Great Rift Valley, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater; the unbelievable concentration of wildlife on the vast plains and the diversity of birdlife in the Tarangire National Park. But time spent here will open your eyes to other great treasures of this wonderful country, Tanzania. The people themselves are a delight – dignified yet warm, friendly and helpful – creating a relaxed and secure atmosphere ideal for exploration. And the scenery alone would justify this area’s popularity.
Travelling in customised 4-wheel drive safari vehicles – with opening roofs to provide comfortable and safe game viewing – we visit three different conservation areas, each with their own unique character.
Your Landscape tour leader and local expert guides will elaborate on the dynamics of the area, which is pivotal to the annual mass migration of wildebeest and zebra in their eternal quest for water and fresh grazing. This is one of the greatest wildlife spectacles on earth and chances of finding the herds on the move are excellent.
An exhilarating optional extra is a hot-air balloon flight over the plains in the early morning. We visit the famous Oldupai Gorge, where an excellent site museum and short lecture by a resident archaeologist sheds light on the famous discoveries made by Louis and Mary Leakey.
The tour starts and ends at Arusha, near Mount Kilimanjaro, and as usual Landscape Tours will facilitate your travel and flight arrangements as needed – getting you there from your doorstep.
