This is a very special opportunity. The Okavango Delta is one of the most desirable nature and wildlife areas on earth, but it’s also one of the most expensive. Botswana’s conservation policies call for minimal numbers of visitors to lodge concessions, in the most pristine areas of the Delta that we are visiting on this tour. This is great for conservation, and wonderful for those who do visit, but of course leads to extremely high prices. However, in this case we have again been able to secure a very special price for our South African customers for a strictly limited period only.
The Okavango Delta in Botswana is one of Africa’s true wilderness areas. The Angolan summer rains feed the Okavango River which slowly filters down and floods the Delta, transforming its dry Kalahari sands into a truly remarkable wildlife wonderland. The Delta environment hosts a large number of animal populations such as crocodile, red lechwe, sitatunga, sable antelope, lion, leopard, elephant, wild dog, buffalo and about 400 bird species.
As on all our tours, Landscape is there to make it easy for you – we will do all your flight and transport operations, and even pick you up from your home or hotel in Cape Town, Durban or Johannesburg. You fly in a small group with your Landscape tour-leader to Maun on the edge of the Delta, and from there by chartered plane on a scenic flight over the waters to Seba Camp, deep in the wilderness.
We stay for 4 nights in Meru-style luxury tents on wooden platforms with verandas – the perfect place to just sit and watch the wildlife passing by. And of course we go on game-drives in 4×4 vehicles, power boat outings and the classic game-viewing excursions by mokoro (canoe). The camp staff and driver-guides are there to make your stay as comfortable and memorable as possible, and you will return from this adventure refreshed in the knowledge that “Wild Africa” of legend still exists!
